Everything Comes To An End

The birds chirp, the leaf blowers blow relief mixed with the leaves, the driveway stand empty with sorrow. Everything must come to an end, one day, the birds will stop chirping, the leaf blowers will leave, the driveway will disappear, and the Slice of Life contest will end. It just won't be the same, no more logging on every single day, the days will pass filled with emptiness, and the blogs will wither without something to share. One day this will all happen, but the days vary, like picking an apple from a tub of water. Though students will still post, it won't be the same, until someone revives the contest, to fill it and make it lush once again.

Finally the day
Everything has stopped today
The blogs will wither
Though it won't forever be
It will be lush once again

Something I Just Can't Do

Today, my mom was annoying my brother and I with her non-stop blabbering. She just went on and on about things she sees around the compound, also problems in the house.

"Hey, those people from across the street just came home, there are lots of children playing on the streets. My phone isn't charging like yours, make it charge. There's something wrong with the sink, I can't turn on the television...." Just a few of the things she says, and she usually complains or tells my brother and I. While my mom annoys us, my brother tells me to make her leave, but whenever I ask her to leave she just doesn't.

So I tell my brother, and he tells me to make her leave again. Then usually I just tell him I can't do that, and that she doesn't listen to me. She doesn't really have a good mood for starters, she doesn't listen to what we have to say, so I just can't do it, but my brother doesn't get that. Even if he doesn't get it, I do.

Prank Calls

I understand that making prank calls is fun, but is troubling for the person who receives it. For a couple days (today and yesterday) my family has been getting them, maybe like twice a day, or three times a day. Sometimes my dad picks up, and sometimes I do. Like yesterday, some girls called, and said they were from "Panamanian idol" (yeah right) but when my dad called they said they were from the bank. Whenever I get these, I just hang up when they're speaking, but my dad didn't really know about prank calls and such.

So yesterday when they told him they were from the bank, he said he didn't get it. They kept going on until my dad hanged up. So today when someone called, he didn't pick up, fearing it was another prank call, and went to the answering machine. Though the person didn't leave a message, we still didn't pick up the next call that followed. Now at night I think about the prank calls, and I just get a bad feeling. But it doesn't mean I have to stop enjoying break right? I hope everyone, has a great break!

A New Phone?

My brother and I fight with my dad, my dad always says that we'll get our new blackberries during the week. However, he has been saying that every week, for the past months. Today, I doubted that I would ever get my phone, I pondered about, wondering if I would get my new phone today. My brother, still had hope, while I had given up. The whole family got in the car, leaving the medium sized compound of tanned, orange houses. Soon, my father had smacked his head, remembering that he had left the G.P.S. (Global Positioning System) in the house, along with the dark blue folder, with all the cell phone information.

We U-turned to go back home, when dad had left important items. Shortly after we arrived, before I knew it we had left the compound, for the second time. First we ate lunch, and went to "Cable & Wireless" (the main office) to check if they had it, the Blackberry Bold 9700. Unfortunately, guess what, they were closed. Reading the sign, who do I hope to fool, it was a piece of paper attached to the door. They had closed at 12 o'clock, today, great, great. My brother, with his grumpy attitude towards my family members, complained about how much time he had wasted. He wasn't the only one to waste his time, we did as well. Then we went to another "Cable & Wireless" that was near the main office, my mother stayed in the car while the rest of us went in. Finding out they didn't have it, another waste of time.

Lastly we went to Multi Plaza, going to the "Cable & Wireless" there, and what do you know! They had it in stock! I've been searching for this particular phone for months, my brother was waiting for another phone for a while, but soon changed to the one I wanted. We were there for about 30 minutes, and the man was activating it, taking it out of the room. Soon two boys, that I recognized were from school.

"Oh no." I pleaded in my head, trying to cover my face with my hand so they wouldn't see me. It was Alejandro and Brian, looking at the phones in stock. Soon they left, and I sighed in relief, the man came, finished up with my dad signing the contract, and we left to go home. Now I'm happy, I'm content with my new phone, and when school comes around, I'm going to get my friends as contacts for B.B.M. (Blackberry Messenger)

Shopping

Simon, the refrigerator is empty, the freezer only has fish and mozzarella sticks.
The cabinet are full of ancient snacks, my lunch box is dying.

We need to go shopping, but where are you?
Are you at school? Are you at home? Are you at your friend's house?

No choice now but to go without you, the boy whose always saying we have nothing to eat.
Father and I had gone to "Riba Smith" to go shopping--grocery shopping.

In goes the food, into the big, fat cart--wafers, spaghetti, chips, cookies, cereal, vegetables, meat, Popsicles--to make it hold so much, until it can't withstand the weight and size.

Arguing with father sure drains your energy, luckily all has passed.
We're safe home, waiting for father to come pick you up?

Waiting here is what I'm doing, while you're over there, in a totally different world.

Then Stop Doing It

I arrived at home with my iPod and bags in hand. I walked inside, took off my shoes, and changed my clothes. I started to watch a few videos online, while my brother was playing on his PS3(Final Fantasy XIII. I finished watching a few videos and got bored, so I decided to write my blog entry. I asked my brother if he had any ideas that I should write about. The other day I had told him that one of my friends had won a prize this week, but I wasn't jealous. He just kept nagging me to quit, because I didn't win anything, and I didn't really care.

I know this seems really pointless, but he just said the same thing every time I asked him today, it really irritates me. So for today, or maybe even the whole week, I'm not going to ask him for any ideas. I'm just going to think myself, and do my post at night. (That's when I can like reflect on things that happened the day, and maybe get more topics.) I'm just going to ask myself, and not him.
